Mukesh Ambani leads again as the richest individual in India, topping the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 with a net worth of ₹9.55 lakh crore. Despite a 6% dip from last year, Ambani has reclaimed the top spot, surpassing Gautam Adani and family, whose net worth stands at ₹8.15 lakh crore. This year’s rankings highlight a competitive two-horse race at the summit of Indian wealth.
Making headlines this year is Roshni Nadar Malhotra, chairperson of HCL Technologies, who became India’s richest woman and the third richest Indian overall with ₹3.5 lakh crore. She is also the first Indian woman to break into the global top 10 richest women.
Shah Rukh Khan, India’s Bollywood icon, has officially entered the billionaire club with a fortune driven by blockbuster films, Red Chillies Entertainment, IPL ownership, and real estate investments.
The list also welcomed a new generation of entrepreneurs. Aravind Srinivas, the 31-year-old co-founder of AI startup Perplexity, has become India’s youngest billionaire, with a net worth of ₹21,900 crore. Meanwhile, Kaivalya Vohra, 22-year-old co-founder of quick-commerce startup Zepto, is now the youngest individual to feature on the list, with ₹4,480 crore to his name.
Another significant debut is Alakh Pandey, founder of edtech unicorn Physics Wallah, whose net worth surged after a 223% rise this year.
India now has 284 billionaires, including 22 women, and a combined net worth of over ₹98 lakh crore. The average age among them is 68, but rising stars like Srinivas, Vohra, and Pandey are reshaping that narrative.
From legacy tycoons to startup stars, the 2025 list reflects the evolving face of Indian wealth that is bold, diverse, and increasingly driven by innovation.
