The glittering stage of world football came alive as the FIFA Best Awards 2025 celebrated the sport’s top performers from August 2024 to August 2025. Held at a star-studded ceremony, the awards honoured players, goalkeepers, and coaches who made a mark on the global stage, both at club and international levels.
In the men’s category, Ousmane Dembélé of France and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player. Dembélé played a pivotal role in PSG’s exceptional season, which saw them clinch the UEFA Champions League and achieve a domestic treble. His creativity, decisive goals, and relentless pace earned him the coveted accolade.
Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Italian goalkeeper for PSG, was awarded Best Men’s Goalkeeper, recognised for his remarkable consistency and leadership in net throughout a successful season. Meanwhile, Luis Enrique, also of PSG, took home Best Men’s Coach for orchestrating the club’s remarkable run across European and domestic competitions.
On the women’s side, Aitana Bonmatí of Spain and Barcelona emerged as The Best FIFA Women’s Player, securing the award for a third consecutive year. Bonmatí’s vision, technique, and consistency on the field made her a standout performer, helping Barcelona dominate domestic competitions and shine in Europe.
England’s Hannah Hampton, the Chelsea and Lionesses goalkeeper, was honoured as Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper. Her heroic saves and leadership were instrumental in Chelsea winning the domestic treble and guiding England to success in the UEFA Women’s European Championship. The Lionesses’ coach, Sarina Wiegman, was also recognised as Best FIFA Women’s Coach for leading the team to back-to-back European triumphs.
Additional awards highlighted individual moments of brilliance. The Puskás Award for the best men’s goal went to Santiago Montiel, while the Marta Award for the best women’s goal was claimed by Mexico’s Lizbeth Ovalle, celebrating their stunning goals from the year.
Votes for the awards were cast by national team coaches, captains, media representatives, and fans, reflecting a comprehensive recognition of performance, leadership, and impact on the global football stage.
